You may think that the ideal product for you to sell on eBay would be something that is in huge demand but no one else is selling on eBay. But you don’t need such a product to make a living on eBay.
You needn’t be afraid of competition. Competition is good. It means there is a market for your product. If no one else is selling it, you may have found a winner. But the reason why no one else is selling it may be because there is no demand for it!
Think about this: how many shoe shops are there in your local high street or shopping center? How many clothes shops? How many banks? How many solicitors? In fact banks are often next door to each other, as are solicitors’ offices! They are in competition with each other because there is a market for their products and services.
The fact is – it doesn’t matter if other people are already selling what you want to sell. If it’s a big market, you don’t need to “corner the market”. If it’s a big pie, you don’t need the whole pie – you only need a slice. And if you sell better than your competition you will get the biggest slice of the pie. Note that I said “sell better”… I didn’t say “sell cheaper”!
What do I mean by sell better? Well, you can use a better title, better photos, better sales copy, better terms, etc. All of these things will make your listing stand out from the competition and make your offer more attractive. But perhaps the best way to beat your competition is to ADD VALUE. Provide your customers with better value for money than your competitors provide.
To increase the perceived value of what you are offering so your customers get better value by buying from you, add FREE BONUSES. If two people are selling exactly the same item on eBay at the same price but one is offering a free bonus, who would you buy from?
For maximum impact, the bonus must be linked to your product, or at least be relevant to your niche, so that it will be of interest to your customers. There’s no point offering a free bonus that is not of interest to your customers as this won’t be an incentive for them to buy from you.
The free bonus should have a high perceived value for the customer but cost you little or nothing to provide so that it doesn’t reduce your profit.
Information products make ideal free bonuses. A guide on how to use the product that you are selling would be a good free bonus. Or you could just compile a list of useful websites related to your niche. Adding a brief summary about each website would increase its perceived value.
You can create the information product yourself, pay someone to create it for you or you might even find an existing one that you can reproduce. If you do a Google Search on “your niche + ebook + resell rights” you may be able to find a low cost, ready-made information product that you can give away free with your item. (You would have to read the resell licence terms to make sure that you can give it away for free.)
An information product can be stored on your computer and be cheaply and easily reproduced by printing it on to paper or burning it on a CD. So giving it away won’t cost you much. But if the information it contains is useful it will add a lot of value to the product you are selling on eBay.
You can then add “+ FREE Bonus” to your listing title, or as a sub-title, so people are more likely to click on your listing rather than your competitors’.
Adding free bonuses such as information products that cost you little or nothing to reproduce but which add value to your product is probably the easiest and cheapest way for you to beat your competition.

Finding what sells on eBay is a lot easier than you think. Did you know that eBay releases “hot list” each month, helping people decide what is the best eBay products to sell!
BUT there is the down side, everyone has an access to this data, and in the long run it can hurt you. So you kind of have to judge the list, and see if there is a close to the list product you can resell to them.
eBay Helps You Out!
eBay has a hot items list, and consistently (every month) they update the list with their research data. This helps you because they do most of the market research for you. They also have the eBay pulse and that helps you see the niche market you would never thought of!
You should always consider the trends. Halloween coming, find out which costumes are popular. If it is Christmas coming, see which toys are popular. Summer is coming, any inflatable items that are popular!
You don’t have to sell only on eBay, you can resell on Craigslist as well.
It is more handling for you, but sometimes bigger profits. People don’t really see the Craigslist as the big market, BUT the thing is, it is HUGE! Last year, I was moving, and I had few things that just did not fit with my place. For each one of those, I’ve got 15-20 calls, I wished I had more of the items to sell
Local Outlet store!
This is an overlooked market, but you can easily get 1000-2000 K per month profit if you source your outlet stores for overstock inventory. First of, these are often brand name products, and they sell like crazy on auction sites. If the price is right at the time of purchase, you can turn around and sell it back for 50% profit margin. So don’t over look this!
Test the Market!
Sometimes all the data shows you are probably on the right target, BUT just to test the market, only sell 2 of those items. You see they are moving, GREAT, but if they don’t you just saved yourself a bunch of money!
Follow your buyers!
Currently at the time I am writing this, many people are into organic products. Organic clothing, organic food, natural remedies etc. You can do so much more with it! The thing is, you can even check out some popular forums and see what people are buying. After finding the eBay products to sell, all you have to do is find a wholesale suppliers, and you can use the worldwide brands directory for that!
You don’t have to stab in dark, take a look at a free tutorial that will show you exactly what is selling on eBay and at what price, at very low competition!

In this article, I would like to share on the importance of branding in doing your selling on eBay.
I’ve found a lot of sellers on eBay are only focused on selling and do not have any emphasis on the importance of branding in their online business.
Why is branding important?
Branding is important because you want to differentiate yourself from other regular sellers so that you can easily capture your visitor’s interest in purchasing from you. A seller with his or her own style and way will help their visitors to remember them and will indirectly increase the visitor’s confidence in purchasing from that particular seller compared to other regular sellers that are selling the same item.
Branding will directly give the impression to your visitors that you are an expert in your field and will give the feeling that you are a seller who knows his or her market very well.
The question is what are the ways that you can do to increase the branding for your business on eBay?
Here is the list of a few simple things that you can do to improve the branding for your business:
1. User ID – If you are just starting out on eBay, the best thing to do is to choose a User ID that is relevan and appropriate to what you will be selling. As an example, if you will be selling sports shoes, you can choose the User ID SportShoes4U. Your visitors will easily remember you if you are using a User ID that is related to what you are selling.
2. Header – If you have your own eBay Store on eBay, you will have the opportunity to upload your own Header for your store. The header that you use should be something that gives a clear picture of what you are selling and not something that has absolutely no relation to what you are selling. For my earlier example, if you are selling sports shoes, your header should have attractive images of sport shoes. By using an appropriate header, you will give the impression that your online store is an elite store with high quality items. This will definitely encourage visitors to purchase from you compared to other sellers.
3. Color – Another simple branding strategy is by using a consistent color for your whole business. If you want to use the color red as the main color for your business, then you should use the color in all your display and promotion. You should use the color red in your header, in your online store and also in all other promotion strategies that you have for your customers.
There are various other branding strategies that you can do. However, what I have shared here is among the simplest things that you can do to increase your branding.
Do ensure that you use branding strategies for your business in order to increase your reputation and to distance yourself from other regular sellers. You will definitely reap the rewards from it in the long run.

eBay is the place to be if you are planning to open a business for selling your product or just about any product. The fastest growing online retail phenomenon, you can also become a part of it as well. You can start an eBay business selling products lying discarded at your home or you can start by selling products that you have knowledge of. The opportunities offered by eBay are huge because since its inception in 1995, the global customer base is 181 million and it is growing by the day. In December 2008, one of the top 5 hottest selling items on the eBay was vinyl records and this just goes on to prove that anything can be sold on eBay.
You can start an eBay business with just about anything from vinyl records to rare LP’s and from discarded and unused Christmas presents to used laptops. It is the largest common marketplace where you can not only do a garage sale but also make some profit from it. Statistics say that 724,000 sellers on eBay are from the US and these people draw their secondary and in some cases primary source of income from this mega marketplace. There are almost 3 million products on sale on eBay from Britain alone, so you can imagine how many products are being put on sale or are being sold on this website every day. Building an eBay business is not what it used to be like. It’s not as easy as it once was to sell on eBay. It used to be that any mom and pop operation could have a successful eBay business up and running in an afternoon. That was the past. However, eBay can still be an incredibly profitable venture. The only difference is now you have to actually treat it like a business and plan ahead.
In the past eBay fees were lower, competition was less fierce, the economy was stronger, the online auction platform was new and everybody loved the novelty of it. It really didn’t matter if you had the slightest business sense. You were going to make money if you sold on eBay. Pure and simple.
I’m sure we’ve all heard the stories about many people who came from nowhere to build a successful eBay business. They didn’t know what they were doing, but they still were able to create a full time income off of eBay. Read the rest of this entry »

eBay is one of the most popular websites on the whole internet. It attracts millions of visitors every day from all over the world. Almost every country has their own version which makes it very useful for selling and marketing.
Up until recently eBay businesses were almost always seen as small concerns that were run out of bedrooms. There are now more and more businesses which are starting to show an interest in eBay.
It is no longer only for individual sellers because it is increasingly popular with large business. Companies such as Vodafone, Dell, Argos and even Littlewoods sell products on the site for a number of reasons.
Offloading stock
You can sell huge quantities of anything very quickly. That’s why a number of businesses use it to offload surplus stock. It can be used in a very similar way to shopping channels.
If you sell clothing or anything that is seasonal then you might want to consider using eBay to sell excess stock. This will often work much quicker than holding a sale and having to wait for people to purchase them all.
Promotion
Perhaps a much more beneficial reason for selling products on eBay is to promote your main business. If you already run an online or offline business then you could use it as a valuable promotional tool.
eBay is visited by millions of people every day, many of which probably haven’t even heard about your company. It is also a trusted site which means many people might be tempted to give you a try. Read the rest of this entry »

Beating the eBay business competition is not an easy feat. In most eBay niches you will find many of the same products for virtually the same price. What then separates a successful eBay business from one that goes belly up? In a single word: “passion”. Those that don’t believe in their business, can’t possibly succeed. Finding a legitimate source of products you understand and learning how to sell them are the most important factors to your eBay business future.
eBay Business Product Suppliers: Go with a dropshipper
Finding products to sell in your eBay business may seem easy at first. You could certainly make products or find them at garage sale, but often this is either too time consuming or the market is not strong enough for this strategy. Others look to foreign importers for low bulk prices. Language issues or reliability problems often make this a frustrating option. One of the best places to look for high quality below wholesale items is a dropshipper. Dropshippers offer a wide range of products, often more than one million, that you can sell for profit in your eBay business or an online store. You pay nothing upfront for these products and the dropshipper takes care of all the shipping for you. Legitimate dropshippers also commonly offer a free trial period to test out the company’s services before you sign up for a monthly membership. Read the rest of this entry »

Starting an eBay business is a lot easier than you may expect, even if you don’t have anything to sell! That is one of the great things about eBay. You can find listings for lots and wholesale items right on the site, buy them and then piece them out in individual listings for great profits!
One of the easiest businesses to start on eBay is a Vintage Jewelry Business. Below you will find step by step instructions on how to set up your own and start raking in the profits just like I did. This is a not theory folk, I’ve actually done it myself and became an eBay Powerseller within just a few months.
To start an eBay business you will need a valid email address and a credit card. Any credit card will do, even a pre-paid debit card. Just follow the steps below and you will be selling in no time:
1. Go to eBay.com To the right of the eBay logo at the top left of the screen you will see the sign in or register links. Click on register and follow the simple instructions. In a few moments you will be a registered eBay seller able to list items for sale, and will have your own Home Page to operate from.
2. The next (and most important) thing you need to do is set up a PayPal account so you can get paid for the items you sell. Having a PayPal account is mandatory and PayPay is a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay, so the registration process is just as simple, and your two accounts will be linked. This is great because you can do your shipping through PayPal in an easy process that provides discounts, tracking, and delivery confirmation. Read the rest of this entry »
