Focus – The Key to Ebay Success!

All of the most successful sellers on Ebay have one thing in common, FOCUS. They do not try to do everything and sell everything. This is not to say that they don’t have at least a few dozen or more items, but all of the products fall into the same type of niche category.

So what exactly is a niche? The Merriam-Webster Online dictionary defines a niche as a specialized market or an activity for which a person or thing is best fitted! Niches can be in any category. Let me give you an example. We can say we are interested in animals, then drill that down to dogs. There are several breeds of dogs, so let’s say poodles. There are different types of poodles, so we may specialize in tea cup poodles. Get the idea?

Some sellers have a love for a variety of products, but they carefully organize those into several sites or stores that specialize in the particular item. This is also a service to the Ebay buyers, as it helps them save time and efforts when shopping.

Remember that from small things….big things can grow. Build your business slow and steady over the course of several years. Learn and expand your niches, but keep that focus. Don’t get distracted with the latest fad that is here today and gone tomorrow.
