How to Achieve Your Goals

When you sit down to write your goals, please take a few minutes to ponder these guidelines. The journey to reaching your goals can be as rewarding as reaching them!

Make sure your goal is concrete, measurable, and understandable. Make sure that you can define them in these three terms, and your chance of reaching them is greatly enhanced.  Let me give you an example. I want to be rich. This is certainly understandable, but how concrete and measurable is it?

Goals must be attainable. If they are too far fetched, you might otherwise call them daydreams.

Make sure that they are challenging. If they are too easy to attain, you will loose interest in them quickly.

Get feeback to make sure you are working toward them. Set yourself some short terms goals that will lead you to the ultimate goal you want to reach. If helpful, get an accountability partner to keep you on the right path.

Finally, you must value the goals you set and find them personally meaningful and important to you!! Don’t try to live out someone else’s dream!
