We all have this problem…..stacks of papers accumulating on our desks, in a file, or in drawer. Paperwork is necessary, but how can you manage it before your loose control? Here are a few tips that will help you reduce the unnecessary clutter:
1. Reports you request, but never read.
2. Procedures that outline responses to everything imaginable.
3. Routine activity reports.
4. Memos written and saved “just in case”.
5. Intro letters that tell you you have just received something.
6. Copies of memos of which you are part of a distibution list.
Take note of the date of the documents and set your self a deadline. Eliminate paperwork after a certain date.
When initially reading paperwork, take action immediately. File it, toss it, or take action on it. Don’t set it aside and let it accumulate.
Follow a few of the examples above and you will be on your way to a clutter free lifestyle.
